JAMIE KENDRICK

Class of 2003

Even as a 2003 North Central graduate, Jamie Kendrick’s panther pride remains strong! She can still recite the NC Fight Song and Senior Chant to this day. And while it’s been almost twenty years since her graduation, Jamie has not wasted a second of it and credits her time at North Central as a driver for her achievements throughout the years.

Some of Jamie’s favorite North Central memories include:

  • Writing for Junior Spec
  • Being on the cheer and gymnastics team
  • 4×4 Track Runner-Up at State
  • Working at the JCC and running to classmates

Looking back, Jamie says, “I didn’t realize what a privilege it was to go to North Central High School. There were so many hidden skills I learned that I didn’t realize I had until after I graduated.”

Jamie is grateful for the diversity she experienced in the hallways of North Central. From different ethnicities to languages, she is comfortable in all settings and with all kinds of people. She appreciates the opportunities North Central provided for her to be in the community and learn alongside such a diverse group of students.

Time Management is another skill Jamie believes North Central instilled in her as she stepped into college and adulthood. She describes being able to balance academic rigor and expectation with extracurriculars as a crucial skill for success out of high school.

After Graduation

After her time at North Central, Jamie earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Food Science, as well as her Master’s degree in Teaching. She then spent time teaching science on the south side of Chicago before beginning her work with food processors and government agencies on food policy and safety and at General Mills in Food Compliance. She recalls her biology class with Mrs. Tellas as the catalyst for discovering her passion for science.

Jamie currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia, where she works for The Coca-Cola Company as a Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Manager for Innovation and Compliance. She also serves on the NCHS Alumni committee and is leading the efforts to plan her twenty-year class reunion this year.
