Omar 1

Omar Khan was born and raised in Washington Township Schools. His journey began at Crooked Creek Elementary School then he went onto Westlane and graduated from North Central High School in 2001.

During his time at North Central, Omar was involved with Class Council and was vice president of his senior class. He was part of the homecoming court and actively involved in Key Club. One of Omar’s fondest memories of North Central was the incredible opportunities available to students. He credits his success to the leadership experiences he was able to participate in. He shared, “If I can be vice president of my senior class at one of the largest high schools in the state of Indiana, what else can I accomplish? What else can I lead?”

North Central gave him confidence that would serve him well even after graduation. Omar graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Political Science and a minor in business. He earned his MBA from Indiana University and went on to work at PNC Bank, Target, Lowe’s, and ADP. All of those roles ranged from Human Resources, operations, business consulting, and change management. He shared, “North Central made me think that maybe I have potential in leadership and as I began my career, I just kept raising my hand to take on new challenges and experiences.”

His latest endeavor includes taking over his family business as President of Weston Schools. The Khan family began this business in 1989 when Omar’s mother did not feel there were adequate early childhood centers in the area, so she opened her own center! The business began with just two locations and over the years have expanded to 5 locations including 1 on the northwest side of Indianapolis, one in Avon, two in Noblesville, and one opening up this year in Westfield. They are not stopping and hope to open additional early childhood centers in the future.

Outside of his growing and expanding his early childhood center business, Omar lives in the Indianapolis area with his wife and daughter. He is actively involved with the entrepreneur’s organization and hopes to help young entrepreneurs get started in their journey. He has a heart and passion for giving back to the community which gave him so much opportunity.

Congratulations to Omar on becoming President of the Weston Schools! We can’t wait to see all you will accomplish!
