Fundraising to support
a freshman success program
As North Central’s original “First of Four” class, we hold a unique place in school history: we were the very first class to spend all four years at North Central High School as 9th through 12th graders. To celebrate our 40-year reunion, we are coming together to support a new generation of freshmen by launching a $19,860 fundraising campaign for the new Freshman Success Program at NCHS.
Why Freshmen Support Matters
Freshman year is a critical turning point and one of the strongest predictors of high school graduation. North Central High School Assistant Principal Bryan Ramirez and the freshman-level support team have noted that 9th graders currently face the highest dropout rates and lowest grades in the school. Without early support, struggling freshmen fall behind on credits and become disengaged from school. Early intervention helps keep students on track toward earning Indiana’s Honors Diploma Seal.
The Freshman Success program
The Freshman Success Program is a pilot initiative providing targeted academic intervention, tutoring, organization help, and mentorship that Mr. Ramirez and his team want to implement for Panthers during this important transition year.
Our class gift of $19,860 will fund a full one-year pilot program, directly supporting approximately 40 to 60 at-risk freshmen.
What our funding will provide:
- Mentorship: Stipends to secure dedicated tutors and staff mentors for structured after-school support.
- Tools: Essential academic supplies, binders, planners, and resources to build lasting organizational habits.
- Accountability: Progress-monitoring systems to track grade improvements weekly and keep students on course.

- $19.86 | Join the Movement: Small gifts add up quickly! Giving $19.86 in honor of our class year builds strength in numbers and ensures every classmate can participate. Pro tip: Setting up a recurring monthly gift at this level is an easy way to provide nearly half a student’s support for the entire year!
- $40.00 | The “First of Four” Club: Celebrate 40 years since being the first class to spend all 4 years at North Central. A $40 gift directly equips a freshman with essential academic materials, planners, and organizational tools for the program.
- $400.00 | Sponsor a Student: Fully fund one freshman’s participation in the Freshman Success Program for an entire year, covering all 3 cycles of tutoring, supplies, and mentorship. Just 40 classmates giving at this level puts us over 80% of the way to our goal!
- $1,986 | Leadership Donor: Become a cornerstone supporter of the program. Donors at the $1,986 level will be featured as Leadership Donors on this page and recognized during our 40th Reunion celebration.
