Since October 2021, many folks have been working behind the scenes to bring multiple, full-size batting cages for the Varsity Softball program at NC. This resource has been missing from our program for far too long and we finally have the opportunity to make the batting cages a reality.

The NCSB Booster club has already secured $13,000 of the $20,000 in funding needed for this project. However, we need your help raising the final $7,000 to make the cages a reality for THIS 2022 softball season.

The completed project will be similar to the system recently installed at Haverford Little League pictured here. We will have 6×6 timbers around the perimeter (not concrete) and will be 87’x33’. Inside this “sandbox” will be crushed limestone material with drainage and will be located on the 3B side of the Varsity Softball field. There will be TWIN cages of 75’ x 15’. In the final form, we will likely ‘split’ each cage to create 4 cages (one at around 55’ and the other at 20’). This will support proper space for Pitcher/Catcher warm-up for 2 groups simultaneously along with hitting space in the smaller spaces (soft toss, T work or L screen, etc). With your help generations of North Central, softball players will have access to this important facility.
