In addition to her studio practice, Naomi supports organizations close to her heart through her artwork. In early 2025, her piece “Hidden Gems” was selected and adapted onto a heart sculpture displayed at  the San Francisco Ferry Building, later auctioned off in support of the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation. Later the same year, Naomi donated a painting to the BASH silent auction benefitting  the Washington Township Schools Foundation. Through these initiatives, Naomi’s work blends creativity with community impact.

Q&A

What are you up to now?

After a successful career in jewelry design, I have returned to my first love—painting. As an abstract artist, I draw inspiration from the natural beauty of the California coast, incorporating texture and bold colors into my work. My art has been featured in exhibitions, including the 2025 Hearts in San Francisco sculpture series and online at Saatchiart.com. I’m also an active member of the Colony of Coastside Artists. My paintings can be seen at : www.naomidelottart.com.

How did North Central impact and shape who you are today?

North Central High School was where I first realized that art could be more than a hobby—it could shape my future. Mr. Jeffreys’ jewelry design class opened up a whole new world for me, and I fell in love with working with metal, shaping pieces, and seeing an idea come to life. That experience led me to study jewelry design and silversmithing at Indiana University, launching a career that not only honed my skills but also gave me the confidence to trust my creativity. The encouragement of North Central’s incredible teachers fostered my curiosity, a trait that still drives me today. As a painter, I continue to feel that same excitement when exploring texture, color, and new techniques. Looking back, I’m grateful for the foundation North Central provided—it was the beginning of a lifelong artistic journey.

WHAT IS your favorite memory from North Central?

One of my favorite memories from North Central High School was discovering my passion for art. I loved spending time designing jewelry in Mr. Jeffrey’s class, along with experimenting with different mediums and techniques. That early creative freedom set the foundation for my lifelong journey as an artist.
